...just a quick post...
....loving how the colours and patterns of the fabricsare standing out in front of the " quiet " but not so quiet
after all green wall!
I am daily amazed by many things, not to mention pictures of beautiful places, spaces or objects...today I was completely stunned by the fresh, crisp look of this Karlstad sofa, wearing a Classic Ruta - Black cover, accompanied by a few pillows sewed from Ikea's new, fabulous fabrics. The cover is one of the many that can be found at Bemz's collection. A company that makes covers to fit especially Ikea couches and model series, such as the Klippan, Karlstad, Kramfors, Ektorp, Stockholm and many others. Even older ones that are not produced any more! Such as our Falsterbo- yes!...finally found out what model our sofa is, thanks to Bemz. Here are the pieces that compose our sofa corner

For those of you who have and want to keep your beloved Ikea couch, but would like to give it a new look, nothing easier that a new cover! There is a rather big range of fabrics, from Belgian Linen Blend, to Panama cotton and Marimekko cotton. Last but not least, the good news: you can order up to five samples and get them for free, so long as you subscribe! Not bad, ha?...so that you are certain that it won't turn out the wrong way. That's good, coz they aren't exactly cheap - which is the bad news, still you can choose from various price ranges. Enjoy!

...a week after...
Happy Thursday to all again : )Above is a picture of the living room this morning, as found after waking up...so that you don't think that it's always all about perfection and clean lines...and it will stay as it is, coz it's one of those days that arranging things around the Penthouse is not on the list - exept from the basics of course.
Rather, despite the unsunny weather, will visit a few of the very interesting museums along the waterside of the Sachenhausen in Frankfurt. Museum for applied arts, German Museum of Architecture, Museum of World Cultures , Museum for Modern Art and German Film Museum are a few of those I 'd like to visit. Using a 1 day Frankfurt card - purchased for 8,70 - will allow for 50% reduction on admission to 20 museums, including the few mentioned above and will provide free and unlimited travel on Frankfurt's public transport system within the city districts. Detailed information can be found on :www.frankfurt-tourismus.de
...and coz I 'd like to leave you with a better impression of the Penthouse, here is a pict where things are pretty much in order ; - )

Enjoy your day, whatever you do, wherever you are...and as my " mister" says...make the best out of it! For sweet Emma and Dottieangel: Happy desk Thursday to both of you!
H a p p y T h u r s d a y !
....hmmm, is there such a thing as a " happy Thursday " ?...do not really know....have seen" happy Friday "..... or " happy bench Monday ".... ( Oh!... still haven't managed to put myself on a bench and take a picture though....Oh well....will do soon )....but nothing about Thursday! For a reason unknown, I seem to be liking Thursdays the past few years a lot....something about it being straight after the middle of the week....it carries the relief of the weekend to come, yet leaves some time in the week for things to be done....
Concerning the picture, no the sun isn't exactly shining today, here in the Verna Park area of Main river in Hessen, this is why I picked this bright one, as a reminder of sunnier and brighter days. Still, the air is very fresh and there is a constant change of sunrays jumping out from the fast moving clouds, which often tend to monopolise the sky. Wherever you are, whatever you do, happy Thursday to all!
P.S: the new month, introducing also a new season, has brought me the need of changes in the Penthouse....let's see what will take place...and I don't forget that I promised to post pictures of the " new " apartment renovation in Athens....some are soon to be uploaded.
Love for living spaces...filled with....L o v e !

....arrived in Athens in the afternoon and run to the " new " apartment to see how the works are going....the almost white ( I like to call them sugar white) wooden floors have been placed in the area of the living room, entrance - dining room, kitchen and small corridor. They are absolutely fantastic, am so pleased concerning that : )...the shiny white " Abstract" Ikea kitchen has been delivered and is patiently waiting to be montaged.....when exactly they could tell us NOT....and here starts the " not so pleased " part...organisation in this, definetely beautiful country, is not a daily happening. And as the icing on top of the cake, the electrical appliances ( Whirlpool for Ikea ) eventually start to be a c t u a l l y sold the first of September - eventhough you see them at the store. Oh man! This is really bad, as I' m flying back the 28th of August. Anyway, I believe in miracles, so am hoping for a montage date for all the cupboards in time, even with out the appliances.
To stop complaining, sooth my heart and connect this post to the picture above, I 'll go back to thinking of my tranquil and organised life in our beloved, little Penthouse.... " At peace, at home "...one of my many favourite books...this is exactly how I feel more and more living in Germany....and for this reason the theme of the photos of this post will be Love, true love coming from deep, deep down inside our beings...love we feel for a person, for ouselves, love for nature and animals, love for what we do, love for how we live and mostly love for living our daily lives, enjoying them to their fullest extent, love for the moment, love for LIFE.
Here are a few photos that express the love that I feel in our Penthouse, in a very simple way....

...by owning and reading books about love...
t...by cutting a heart shaped noticeboard from a roll of cork and " posting " a picture of my boyfriend and me.....

...by trying to create " A nest for two".....
( another favourite book )

...by wrapping in wire a heart shaped stone, that I had found on our vacation and offered it to him, in lieu of a card, before I left today, writing " I LOVE U "....

...and simply by making breakfast, setting the table nicely : )
....Throughout the last 5 years I 've been trying to live my life with love - and trully that doesn't involve only happy moments, but lots of frustrations, fears and tears, too - which always brings me to making things and creating spaces I love to....love...for me or other people. For more love creations, hop to my Flickr page: http://www.flickr.com/photos/ivy_style33/ and look for :" Love mirrors " and " Love made of wire ".
Breath in aaaaall the love and go on creating and living the Lives that YOU love to live. ..................................................
