Cool summer
Goodmorning on a Saturday!
Despite the quiteness here - where are you people?....hellooo....I'm back! - I"m posting this as promised last night. I blame you not for having possibly forgotten about this place and given up hope about me showing up....but I hope that we can catch up with each other.
The collage above is in the same colour mood as yesterday's and gathers some moments from activities that I so much enjoy....travelling, with a few pictures from our current vacation in
Greece and two from The Netherlands included, photography, crafting, styling and interior designing....all adored for the freedom and deep happiness they offer me when engaging in them...
"Colour your mood" could be my moto, as there is so much interconnection between what goes on inside and what is expressed outside....I have noticed the transition from one tone to the other in between days, from more warm to more cool tones, to be smoother and smoother as years go by....like a dance between too lovers, who interchange between moments of passion and ones of tenderness and tranquility....
It's a nice feeling, which can be enjoyed and cherished after many, many intense ups and downs and sincere work on getting to know who I really am and what I want.....claiming not that issues are finished, as they are for me eternal and never ending, with knowledge being a source with which we are never finished....but just wanting to mention that such processes are true treasures to be cherished like the most precious of gifts.
Oh, let us look inside and colour our moods with our personal, magical paintbrushes!

Knocking on heaven' s door...
Goodmorning all :)
An official thank you for the welcoming of my Photography series yesterday. I was really delighted by the warm response! So today, I'll be presenting you here a small sample of my rather big collection of doors, that I've been photographing through out the years...even when digital was a far, far away dream.
The doors - and probably a window or two - participating in this mosaic have been photographed mostly since the very beginning of this year. They were found in various places, starting from our own neighbourhood, to Munich, to Madrid, to Mallorca, to Strassbourg, to Amsterdam (set of pictures is under construction at the moment)
One day, after many, many more trips to come and to experience, I'd like to group them together - including all the ones from other past trips, too - and probably publish something. I find doors to be not only very appealing to me due to their unique architecture and colours, but also to hold a very special symbolic meaning.
Our paths of lives, for example, go always through imaginary doors. Sometimes we open ones to find pure bliss, others to learn a lesson or to find ourselves among others that are to benefit from our own gained knowledge.
There are others that are bright open, but we never actually choose to go through them, either because of a wrong timing or as a result of choice - very often a wise one. Like when we close for good behind us and not ever again decide to go through doors, that led us to unnessary pain or to a way of life that was not suitable to our wishes and standards.
In addition there are these doors, we stand before them with awe and would love to knock, so that their opening reveals an equal incredible interior...probably these are the ones, that need the more stregth and integrity to be opened, as we human beings tend to sometimes be afraid of our own happiness and our own successes.
And finally there are these doors we are sometimes so persistent in opening and keep on endlessly knocking ,despite the fact that there is no actual response....even after many trials...then most probably we are wishing for something the wrong way, we are probably seeking for easy success, without having the required background for that.
A wise decision would be to reconsider both the door we are aiming at and our readiness to enter it.
There are no easy ways, but we are the ones who can make our ways easy...good news is we can prepare ourselves by recognising both our weaknesses and strenghts and arm oureselves both with faith in our abilities and some humbleness, too.
How about you?...are you probaply in the mood for some sharing today?..which are the doors that you have firmly closed behind you in your lives and which are the ones you wish to open?
I'll be signing off for the day and return later tonight, so by then I'm wishing you all to have the best days ever possible for each one of you!
...and a very Happy Weekend!
...it's May...
...it's actually the middle of May...
...it has been rainy, grey & cold since almost the past two weeks...
...long walks and bicycling aren't exactly favorited...
...but life is good when we make it good...
...and that's why I' m wishing you to spend a weekend as lovely as you can...
...despite the weather or other possible unpleasant conditions - in case there are some...
...and have gathered here in this small mosaic...
... moments of this week, which were happy and sweet and carefree...
...eventhough there were also moments of sadness and darker thoughts as mentioned here.
Breakfast time, shared with my partner is something I cherish like a treasure and so are - not so often - meetings with friends, like the one I had yesterday with a very dear one of mine.
Enjoyed Thai soup in a nice, newly opened and minimally decorated place and then hot chocolate and homemade cake at a favorite cafe in Mainz and strolled around the small art & handmade fair, where these super cute & happy dotted cups and mugs were found!
May this weekend result for all of us in a happy combination, much as strawberries and dots make!

Pure Love
...just a short post today...
Which other colour could represent purity better than white?
For the love of white...
For the love of light...
There where all colours meet together...
There where the heart rests...
A different kind of power....
...the power of tranquility...of light...of softness....of simplicity....the power of solid wood....of brick walls...or mirror reflections and swirling energy....the power of eyes and perception...the power of movement....of beauty, of memories of things once loved...the power of freedom and happiness...
...each one of these images carries a strong ammount of power to my eyes...yet they are all so calm and relaxing...but in no way boring...
Power is an issue to be considered a lot, as throughout history, as much as in our current days, misuse of it is responsible for countless pain and destruction in our world...caused both to humans and nature itself.
It is usually misused in the hands of the greedy, self centered and ignorant...and in the hands of the unawarably low self-esteemed ones and the ones whose pain is left untreated...camouflaging the wounds with uncontrolable anger and hunger for attention.
Peace in the world starts from peace within our hearts. Let's take the necessary steps to be gradually achieving this point throughout our lives, doing both ourselves, our loved ones and the world a favor.
We have the power in our hands....we have the power in our minds...but most of all we have the power in our hearts.
Starting by simply never causing or wishing to someboby anything, that we wouldn't like to happen to us.
Starting by respecting our fellow human beings and our individual differences and never but never understimating others, as we can never know exactly what they have been through their lives.
Power matters into bringing peace. Power should not be missunderstood for aggresiveness, ambition or anger.

Fragments of life....
...nature in Spring...pink blossoms
...wonderful doors and architecture of times gone by...like in a fairy tale
...adorable, loving, unique dogs
...home baking...in kitchens with the air of a different era
...simple, everyday moments, like tea drinking
...beautiful girls, dressed in fabulous clothes, but yet so quiet
...earth colours
...brown, pink, dusty pink, beiges and greys
...all fragments of life...
...a Spring that is closely connected to its previous season, winter, taking small steps in to passing from absence of colours to the explosion of them...transitional stages are also nice in life...life is a journey....not only a destination...the destination is the journey of life itself...after one full month officially in Spring here in this part of the world, in central Europe, warmhearted wishes for lots of enjoyment in life's daily trip, whichever the seasons, whichever the reasons, whichever the occasions...
Some luxury feeling, a little bit of romance and some sweetness...
All necessary ingredients for a most delightful tea time!
I wish this porcelain cup was of good Bavarian quality, like these ones,
that live in my parents' Apartment 44 in Greece, since 41 years.
It's not though.Siiiiiigh!
Having missed the feeling of sipping a cup of tea from fine white porcelain with true golden details, accompanied with mother's excellent homemade cakes, cookies and chocolates, on a Sunday afternoon, I indulged myself to this very cheap copy, in exchange of €1 both for the cup and the saucer.
Two sets were bought and the amazing expense of €1.60 was made to purchase also two separate small plates.
Well, I must admit, that my eye was equally pleased, with the only difference being actually holding the cup, as fine porcelain is extremely light, which neddless to say, isn't the case here!
Still, the whole feeling that I wished for was created and the only fake thing in the setting was the non Bavarian porcelain. A sense of luxury was created and added a little bit of this magic we are all looking for in our daily lives.
I'm not in favor of copies, also having been brought up with a selective taste. But, I strongly believe that a nice sense of living should be enjoyed by many and not only by those who can afford it.
That brings us back again to style and styling, which could be the key to beautiful living.
The importance is on how we do what we do, on how we wear what we wear, on how we express our views, our thoughts, our emotions.
The more I grow up, the more I understand that style means a cultivated mind and soul...
And last but not least, what more could be style than doing what we do, being who we are, through the quaility of love?
And a note here:
The wonderful tea I drunk and very much enjoyed is called "Frülingstau", or Spring Baptism, a present from my Chinese friend Ann Jing, who has a lovely Tea shop in Mainz and writes a delightful blog about cooking and of course teatime!
Despite the fact that it is in Chinese, a visit is sure to reward you, as there is a collection of lovely pictures she herself composed and made.

Rectangles - circles - lines & curves
I guess you all have figured it out by now, that I love geometry and shapes....it was one of my favorite subjects at school and was a complete nerd at it, looking forward to solving the homework exercises...now that I see nothing wrong or uncool about being a little " nerdy "...no problem in sharing that! ; )
Now, I mostly care about geometry and shapes serving the purpose of good design, function, comfort and of course, jumping out of its "Strictness" and providing pleasing eye candy...
Have a lot to learn but love this process!
